MODERNITY
For my junior year project, Modernity, I explored the history and evolution of documentary photography and how it grew into such a powerful and influential medium. I researched the techniques and styles used by early documentary photographers—how they captured raw, authentic moments to tell real stories—and applied those same methods in my own work. Using these classic approaches, I created a photo book that not only showcases my images but also serves as a visual tribute to the photographers who shaped the field. Through this project, I aimed to help others see what documentary photography once looked like and understand its lasting impact on how we view the world today.
